Sunday Qigong Circle…

A Sunday Somatic Practice to heal in connection and relationship with your wise body

Our Sunday Qigong Circle offers a warm, welcoming circle for you to celebrate your body as a sanctuary for wisdom and healing… to explore being bodyful.

Becoming “Bodyful” with Mindfulness, Meditation & Movement

Each Sunday, we will take time to pause, connect to our wise body and restore whole-body health through the healing practice of Qigong (chee-gong). Somatic Qigong brings together the body wisdom of somatics with gentle, easy-to-learn body movements and breathing of Qigong that still your mind, move your emotions and restore the flow of life-energy or “Qi” to your body. Our circle offers a compassionate, body-oriented and trauma-informed experience.

  • Being gently present in your body: noticing its wise cues
  • Finding space in your body to feel again, with patience and respect for your limits.
  • Discover safety in your body
  • Exploring what it means to be compassionate with yourself.
  • Discerning the choices that support feeling settled and comfortable in your body.

Benefits of Somatic Qigong
  • Supports self-regulation and resilience

Elisa Peterson is an extraordinary teacher. Her remarkable ability to impart her knowledge, skills and wisdom about qi-gong in an engaging, caring and gentle manner brings me back to her time and again. From each session with Elisa, I have gained new insights to further my understanding of qi-gong. The beautifully simple practice of qi-gong has taught me how to quiet my mind and live more fully in the present. I am forever grateful to Elisa for enabling me to bring “better karma” into my life.

About Trauma-Informed Practice for Massage Therapists

A Trauma-Informed Practice fosters an environment where the diversity of each patient’s lived experience is met with compassion, safety and awareness to provide care and service effectively, and respectfully. Trauma-Informed Practice (TIP) for Massage Therapists is a unique training that integrates cognitive and contemplative learning to support massage therapists in creating a trauma-informed environment for their patients. Prevalence of trauma in all communities makes it such that clinicians are both knowingly and unknowingly treating patients who have experienced trauma.  The goal of the training is to raise awareness of trauma and help massage therapists develop polyvagal-informed communication skills that build safety and trust in the therapeutic relationship.

Integrated Learning Approach

Our training combines foundational, didactic theory with experiential, contemplative practices such as reflection, movement, and sensory self-awareness to build an integrative learning experience for students.
